We hate jargon here at Kei. That’s why this page isn’t stuffed full of deliberately obscure legalese that needs a weekend and an online thesaurus to untangle.

Below, we’ve set out when and why we collect personal information, how it’ll be used, how we keep it secure and the (very) limited scenarios where we may be required to share it with others.

We’ve even set it up as a Q&A – just to make it a little easier to follow.

1. What information can Kei collect from me?

We’re glad you asked. Generally, you can browse our website without needing to provide us with any personal info. While we use Google Analytics to check how our web traffic is doing, these are anonymous, aggregate statistics that don’t give away any information about individuals.

However, we will collect some personal information from you when you sign up for our marketing communications (personal information means things that could identify you personally, such as you name, email address, job title or inside leg measurement*).

If you want to check or amend the personal information we hold at any point, you can drop us a line at hi@kei.wtf and we’ll let you know. You can also update you information or unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the link at the bottom of our emails.

(*Disclaimer – we will never need to collect your inside leg measurement.)

A quick note on cookies

We – like nearly all other websites – use cookies. Cookies are small data files which are placed on your computer or other devices (think phones or tablets) while you browse. These are vital for our website to operate effectively.

We don’t use cookies to collect or record information on your name, address or other contact details. Kei can use cookies to monitor your browsing behaviour.

We will ask for your permission to use cookies when you visit our website for the first time on a new device or browser. However, if you disable cookies then our site might not work properly.

2. Why are you collecting my personal information, and how will it be used?

We use your personal information for a couple of reasons.

  1. So we can tell you about the latest updates from Kei;
  2. So we can contact you if we need to find out or provide you with further information;
  3. So we can check we’ve got our records right and make sure you’re happy with our product or service.

We definitely don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses. That’s just not cool. Likewise, we will only disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so.

3. How are you collecting my personal information?

We will always ask for your consent before collecting you information, and we ask that you double opt-in to confirm that you agree for us to do this. As such, please check your inbox once you’ve signed up (including that pesky spam folder) to complete your application to join our waiting list.

We use a third-party provider – MailChimp – to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks so we can monitor and improve what we’re sending across. For more information on this, you can check out MailChimp’s privacy notice.

The last bit

Our work related to GDPR is still on-going and you can expect this page to be updated regularly. If you’ve got any other questions for us, then we’re always up for a chat at hi@kei.wtf.
